Notes:

For each household the Address and Census Reference (RG 14 Piece Number and RG 78 Piece, Registration District, Sub-District, Enumeration District and Shedule Numbers) are given, followed on successive lines by the Name, Sex, Relationship to the Head of the Household, Condition, Age, Year of Marriage, Number of Children [Live and Dead], Occupation, Employment Type and Place of Birth for each member of the family. The names, ages and place of birth of servants have sometimes been omitted. A number of allied households containing close relatives may also be included in the data set The numbers under the heading M/C/L/D refer to 'Years Married', 'Number of Children', 'Live Children' and 'Deceased Children'. These columns were intended to be completed for married women only; occasionally they were recorded for men or widows, in which case they were usually crossed out on the returns. Entries which were recorded but struck out are indicated below by a minus sign. Occasionally the 'Years Married' number is omitted but the number of children is recorded; this will be obvious from the context.
